Upcoming Tax Dates:

December 31 – of the year you turn 71 years of age is the last day you can contribute to your own RRSP
January 4 – GST/HST credit payment
January 18 – Canada Child Tax Benefit and Universal Child Care Benefit payments
January 30 – Must pay interest on outstanding loan from spouse for purposes of income splitting

Contribute $5,000 annually with Tax Free Savings Account

AIC will be offering the new Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA) starting January 2, 2009. The TFSA is a new savings vehicle for Canadians that was first proposed in the 2008 Federal Budget.
