Anyone who knows us will tell you that we are disciples of the world’s most successful value investor of all time, Warren Buffett.
They will also tell you that we are unwavering in our commitment to the buy-and-hold principles of value investing – to the point that we proudly communicate our passion and focus right in our company slogan – Buy. Hold. And Prosper.
How we “buy”
As value investors, our focus is on long-term company value rather than short-term stock price. We seek to own excellent companies in strong, enduring growth industries that we know and understand, and we buy at a point in time when they are temporarily undervalued in the eyes of the market.
What we mean by “hold”
We invest in companies with the intention of staying invested for the long term, which to us means 5, 10, 15, 20 years and more. We will sell when we believe a company is no longer capable of consistently generating above-average returns, or when their stock is priced considerably higher than its real worth.
How you “prosper”
It is an enduring truth that prosperity is the inevitable outcome when the three objectives of investing are met:
- Preserve investor principal;
- Grow money at a good rate, and
- Minimize the impact of taxes.
